Exodus

Thanks for checking in.

I remember when LJ was sold to the Russians. I was told there would be no advertising. Now the adverts have gotten really annoying. LJ has a rich community of interesting people. I am not totally gone. However, most of my attention will now probably be at my new blog, to whit,

Ever seen a peeled watermelon?

Well you have now. This was from the feast. This seemed like the fastest way to get them into the juicer.

Politics Test

I scored Civil Libertarian, to whit:

"A civil libertarian believes in little to no government intervention on personal matters and moderate government intervention on economic matters. As the name implies, a Civil Libertarian's main concern is with civil liberties - personal matters. They tend to be strongly opposed to war, police powers, victimless crimes, and foreign intervention. Civil Libertarians may tend to believe in a social safety net, but to a lesser extent then most leftists. Strong Civil Libertarians are somewhat inclined towards supporting capitalism as an economic system, while others believe in a "mixed" system between different aspects of capitalism and socialism. A civil libertarian strongly believes in protecting personal liberty. They strongly support self-ownership and privacy."

poltical chart

At the end it gives you a percentile score on economic & political freedom and bases your final score on those, so I kinda have the feeling the test was either created by or taken from a Libertarian political body.

Incredible Garden

So like I said I saw a really inspiring garden tonight. The guy who planted it is a landscaper and he really has a way with plants. He doesn't have that big a back yard but he definitely makes the most of it. He gave us a tour and I took some pictures.

He's got aloe surrounding his property, 50 or so pineapple plants, papaya, sapote, avocado, kumquats, figs, a grape arbor and more I'm forgetting.

His pineapple / papaya patch:

And here's a couple of, I believe, mostly avocado trees:

Nite all.

*32 oz h2o + lime juice + 2t MSM

*31 oz {pineapple, spinach, banana, grapes}
I ran out of berries & cacao so it came out prettier than usual. =)
smoothie

*1.5 bananas + tahini

*31 oz {pineapple, spinach, banana, grapes, tahini}
smoothie

*many raw things, {saurkraut, noodles, stuffed pepper, tomato corn salad, sesame seed cakes, avocado, grapes, dehydrated eggplant, more...} plus raw ice cream and cake.
food!

This is the cake. It had layers of walnut & date & mango... It was awesome. =) (Samuel was 5.)
cake

This is the ice cream. Layers of frozen banana & frozen berries homogenized with whole berries in it. Mmmmm.......
ice cream

I went to a birthday party for a friend of my son's. They're a raw family so it was an awesome spread. I wasn't sure the juice was raw though, so I didn't have anything to drink, and I got a bit of a headache from dehydration.

*water

*red grapes

*more water

Why are my lips way over on one side of my face. I'm not like that in real life. I think...

*44 oz {spinach, pineapple, bananas, blueberries, aloe, cacao}

*1.5 bananas + tahini + cacao
(dipped then rolled, baby)
banana

*38 oz {spinach, pineapple, bananas, blueberries, aloe}
(tastes much better than it looks)
smoothie

Yesterday the wind knocked a free-standing door on the back porch onto an aloe plant, so I've been trying to use the leaves that broke off. Aloe is a really amazing plant. The inside is pretty much 100% transparent goo. Bizarre.

*hummus {walnuts, tahini, lemon juice, udo's, bragg's, cayenne, cumin} &
salsa {tomatoes, lime juice, pineapple, pickled hot peppers, cilantro} &
baby carrots
hummus

*salad with the usual dressing

*chocolate pudding {cacao, carob, dates, avocado, honey} garnished with banana & shredded coconut
puddin'

This was really good. Very rich like a chocolatey paste. I wound up eating it on pineapple and banana. Carob isn't technically raw but I got the recipe from Naked Chocolate and I figure anything from a David Wolfe book gets a raw pass. =P
banana

*honeydew (mmmmm)
